PURPOSE:To accurately align a mutual corresponding part of contact between an IC card and a card reader at a fixed position and corresponding automatically by tilting a stop lever by receiving the carrying force of the IC card. CONSTITUTION:At the time of reading and writing from an IC card, a solenoid 28 is turned on, and a bearing 31 integrated with a rotary shaft 25 is turned downward, and moved downward to a position at which the face of a carrying stopper 21 intersected orthogonally with the carrying path of the card 12. The tip of the IC card 12 is abutted with the carrying stopper face 21 of a stopper lever 13. On receiving the carrying force, the lever 13 is rotated arround a pivoting shaft 22. The front end face of the IC card 12 is engaged by the carrying stopper face 21 at downward movement horizontal position, and the upper face of the card is depressed by a face 20 facing the card and the card is stopped at a regular data processing position. In such case, a contact 16 is pressed and brought into contact with the contact part of the IC card 12, and the reading and writing of business data are executed.
