A device for trapping solvent used for cleaning a paint or lacquer spray gun or the like is disclosed, which has a receptacle for the discharge end of the nozzle of the spray gun, a collection vessel for the sprayed-out solvent, connected to this receptacle by means of a tube line or hose line, and vents for diverting the spraying air. The spray gun can be pushed into the receptacle such that the nozzle orifices not to be cleaned cannot be hit by the sprayed-out solvent.
