PURPOSE:To manufacture a wear-resistant articles excellent in durability, by forming Ni plating on the surface of a metallic base material, by precipitating a W layer, by supplying a carbon source, and by precipitating a WC layer on the surface of the W layer so as to strengthen the adhesive strength of the WC layer. CONSTITUTION:A layer 25 of Ni-type plating such as Ni-P, etc., is formed into about 2-15mum thickness of the surface of a metallic base material 24 such as machine parts, etc. Then a layer 26 of simple-substance W of about 0.05-1mum thickness is formed on the above Ni-type plating layer 25 by low- temp. CVD treatment, etc. Subsequently, a carbon source such as C6H6, etc., is supplied to the surface of the above W layer 26 and, by a low-temp. CVD method, etc., a WC layer 27 is precipirated to about 10-20mum thickness. In this way, machine parts excellent in adhesive strength of WC layer and improved in wear resistance can be obtained. |
