A bridge (1) for a conveyor belt (25) can at its mid-point slew on a traverse pylon (2), about the vertical axis of a traverse ring (3) and when its supporting carriage (7) runs along a jetty wall can be displaced towards the jetty. The supporting carriage (7) can move along parallel rails (5) that are predominantly straight. It is supported through a horizontal longitudinal shaft on front and rear running gear, and has a traverse ring (10) with a vertical axis of rotation for a C-section frame (11) that has, at its upper end, a traverse ring (12) with a vertical axis of rotation for supporting the discharge end of the bridge (1). In the embodiment shown, the axis of rotation of the traverse ring (12) is above the axis of rotation of the traverse ring (10), although this does not have to be the case in all designs of this type.
