PURPOSE:To obtain an emulsion resin which gives a coating film having an excellent effect of preventing sticking, by dissolving a non-tacky compd. non- affinitive with a resin described below in a monomer giving the desired resin by using a nonionic surfactant and emulsion-polymerizing the monomer in an aq. medium. CONSTITUTION:A non-tacky compd. (A) non-affinitive with a resin (e.g., polymethyl acrylate) (e.g., kerosine or liquid paraffin) is mixed with a monomer (B) for said resin (e.g., methyl acrylate) in the presence of a nonionic surfactant (e.g., sorbitan sesquioleate) to dissolve or stably disperse the component A in the component B. Emulsion polymn. is carried out in an aq. phase to obtain an emulsion resin in which a resin phase contg. stably the non-tacky compd. is emulsion-dispersed in water. The resin is applied to a substrate 1 to form a coating film 2. When the film is dried, the non-tacky compd. 4 is separated from the resin phase 3 to form a non-tacky layer 5.
