<p>A contact sensor in which a detecting needle is brought into contact with an object to be detected, such as a work set on a machining tool, to detect the position thereof and transmit the detected signal by radio wave. In this sensor, the detecting needle is used as a transmitting antenna to carry out a stable radio transmission irrespective of the positional relation between a transmitter and the object to be detected. In addition, the detecting needle, and a contact detector for an object to be detected, which consists of two detecting means, i.e. a means for detecting the object by the presence or absence of electric continuity between the detecting needle and the object, and a detecting means composed of a switch sensitive to the deflection of the detecting needle, are incorporated in a detecting head. When the detected signals from the detecting needle and contact detector are modulated with a double scale signal and transmitted, the object can be detected independently of its property, conductive or a non-conductive.</p> |
