Insertion of the key (6) into a groove (16) in a rotor (4) causes retraction of follower and driver pins (35,36) disposed in a hole (33,34) in the rotor, lock body, respectively, against the urging of a compression spring (37). The rotor is then freed for rotation. Axially directed displacement of the rotor is prevented by a co-operating flange (38) and ring (39). Further insertion of the key causes its tip (6a) to move an interlocking plate (14) to move back in the groove. The cam is moved backwards and the spring (26) is compressed. A laterally-disposed surface (3a) of the cam is brought into alignment with the switch actuator (11). Rotation of the key through a quarter turn causes the interlocking plate and cam to rotate with the rotor and the switch (2) is turned on. |
