<p>PURPOSE:To manufacture a low-P steel with a small amount of secondary materials in a short time by adding a slag forming secondary starting material contg. CaO and FeO as essential components to the surface of a molten steel and by blowing a specified powdery dephosphorizing agent into the molten steel with gaseous O2 as a carrier gas. CONSTITUTION:Iron and steel scraps are charged into an electric furnace 1 and melted by heating. A slag forming secondary starting material 2 contg. CaO and FeO as essential components is added to the surface of the resulting molten steel and a powdery dephosphorizing agent 5 contg. CaO, CaF2 and CaCl2 besides FeO as the base in a hopper 4 is blown into the molten steel with gaseous O2 6 as a carrier gas through a nozzle 3.</p> |
