PURPOSE:To shorten the settling time and to move the head precisely to the target track position, by supplying brake pulses to a stepping motor towards the end of each track feed. CONSTITUTION:A stepping motor driving generator 10 is interfaced with a CPU such as a floppy disk drive controller, etc. and a floppy drive, from which equal interval step signals 11 are outputted. Towards the end of each track feed, brake pulses are supplied to the stepping motor. The supply timing of the brake pulses is set at the time when the predetermined delay time is past form each step signal. This delay time for the first step signal is set longer than the other step signals. |
