PURPOSE:To improve the printing quality of coarse-surface paper through duplicated printing by enabling selection of high-speed printing for printing columns to which each printing head is sequentially selected and assigned, and duplicated printing for printing the same column with different printing heads. CONSTITUTION:Two sets of printing heads A, B are arranged in parallel at their respectively prearranged intervals. Then the printing head is caused to print with prearranged column data supplied while moving vertically against a column. In addition, a distribution means 30 and a switching means 33 of the former are provided and these are operated by an instruction input. In the duplicated printing with double-row heads, the printing heads A, B print simultaneously and further print each odd-number and even-number column sequentially. For this reason, the printing speed is reduced to a half as compared to high-speed printing so that an energization duty may be kept below a prearranged value. |
