NEW MATERIAL:Water-soluble disazo compds. in the free form, represented by formula I (wherein R is H or a lower alkyl which may be substituted; A is an arom. or aliph. bivalent group; X is phenylene or naphthylene which may be substituted; Y is methyl or carboxyl; Z is halogen; n is 1 or 2). EXAMPLE:A compd. of formula II. USE:Disazo dyes which dye cellulose fibers or nitrogen-contg. fibers yellow. PREPARATION:One mole of a cyanuric halide is condensed with 1mol of a compd. of formula III. One mol of the resulting compd. of formula IV is condensed with 2mol of a compd. of formula V and the resulting compd. of formula VI is esterified in conc. sulfuric acid to obtain a diamino compd. of formula VII. One mold of the diamino compd. is condensed with 2mol of a compd. of formula VIII.
