PURPOSE:To equalize the initial tension or the initial module of an auxiliary layer along the whole width of the auxiliary layer substantially, by a method wherein a belt layer and the auxiliary layer are formed on a drum provided with the outer profile of the section thereof substantially the same as the radius of curvature of a tread. CONSTITUTION:A belt layer 50 is formed on a drum D1 provided with the outer profile of the section thereof substantially same as the radius of curvature R1 of a tread 30, thereafter, an auxiliary layer 60 with two layers is formed by winding an auxiliary layer constituting member, provided with a width slightly wider than the same of the belt layer 50, in spiral sequentially, further, a tread constituting member 30 is wound on the outermost periphery of the auxiliary layer 60 to form a belt constituting body 100. On the other hand, an inner liner A, a carcass layer 40, bead wires 11, a bead filler 12 and side wall rubbers 21 are stacked on a flat drum D2 and a band type carcass constituting body 200 is formed. The constituting body 100 is secured to and integrated with the carcass constituting body 200 so as to coincide the center thereof with the outer peripheral surface of the constituting body 200, which is deformed and inflated into a toroidal shape, whereby a green tire may be formed.
