For introducing inherent stresses (sD, sZ) into fibre-reinforced plastic layers (1, 2) of a torsionally loaded component, a gap or crack (3) is produced, by means of forces applied to the component, in at least one of the layers (2) and is filled with a material (4) while the force is acting; after removal of the forces, the gap (3) cannot close again, as a result of which the inherent stresses (sD, sZ) are produced (Figure 4). <IMAGE>
