摘要 The braking device for rail vehicles has a device (9) which, in the train unit, is arranged or activated within the rear half of the train, preferably about 3/4 of the way along the length of the train. At the beginning of each braking operation, preferably shortly after the service or first-stroke accelerator adjacent to it comes into action, the device (9) draws off compressed air from the main air line (4) locally for a certain period of time or to take a certain amount. By virtue of the device (9), which can be connected as a separate unit to the main air line (4) or, if in structural combination with the control valves, can be brought in only at the particular point of the train, accelerated initial braking of the rear part of the train is obtained, so that the overall effect is that longer trains can be operated at higher running speeds than hitherto with the control valves set to quicker brake-pressure development times. <IMAGE>
