Trolleys, the front wheels of which are designed as support wheels, can be moved relatively safely across a slope without drifting off laterally. On the other hand, a line of trolleys pushed together is difficult to move around a bend because the front support wheels do not participate in the steering action. This disadvantage is avoided by a manually moveable trolley (1), the wheels (8, 9) of which are all designed as steering wheels, in that a locking mechanism (26) is provided between the loading surface (17) and the chassis (2) and in that when the loading surface (17) is swivelled, depending on its angle of adjustment, part of the locking mechanism (26) either protrudes into the swivelling region of the front wheels (8) or is located outside the swivelling region of the front wheels (8). As a result of this measure, the front wheels (8) adopt the function of support wheels in straight-ahead running whereas in a line of several trolleys (1) they act as steering wheels. <IMAGE>
