The invention relates to a pin-type connection which can be subjected to high loadings and is intended for connecting two structure parts which can be stressed to a great extent, in particular frames of tables, chairs and furniture elements consisting of solid wood. The first structure part (1) to be connected exhibits, on the end side, at least two parallel rows of rectangular pins (2). The second structure part (3) is provided with cylindrical bores (3) which are arranged in a corresponding manner and into which the pins (2) can be pressed, with the addition of glue. In the second structure part (4) there is provided, at right angles to the rows of cylindrical bores (3) and in the centre between said rows, an additional bore (5) whose diameter is greater than the clearance between two neighbouring pins (2) of the first structure part (1). The additional bore (5) intersects the cylindrical bores (3) tangentially. A peg (6) is driven into the additional bore (5) and rests laterally on the pins (2). There is a high degree of pressing between peg (6) and pins (2), this resulting in a slightly oval deformation of the peg (6) and in the rectangular pins (2) bending out into the free segments of the round bores (3). Said pin-type connection provided with the additional peg (6) is distinguished by strength, which has been increased to a considerable extent, and improved durability. <IMAGE>
