PURPOSE:To restore a reproduced waveform approximating an original recorded signal at a double speed by converting the reproduced signal due to either of two reproducing heads to data where error is detected with an error detecting and correcting code. CONSTITUTION:Read-out of the signal of one track out of a signal (b) read-out by a head switching signal FSEL (a) is stopped or the read-out signal is converted to a fixed pattern to be error data. The deinterleave processing is performed only with the one-track signal, for example, a signal t1, and the signal lost in this case is detected by a correcting circuit and is interpolated and is outputted. Thus, the reproduced waveform approximating the original recorded signal is restored at a double speed.
