摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium having good durability by subjecting a thin iron nitride film to a hydrogen ion treatment then providing a protective film contg. an amine compd. CONSTITUTION:A PE terephthalate film having 12mum thickness is used for the high-polymer film 1 and colloidal silica is incorporated at 0.25wt% as pulverized inorg. inert particles therein. Microprojections are incorporated at 10<7> pieces/cm<2> in average into the film and the average surface roughness is specified to 110Angstrom . The film which has 900 Oe coercive force and 0.13mum film thickness and is obtd. by using Ar and NH3 as electric discharge gases and subjecting Fe to electron beam vapor deposition by utilizing 13.56MHz high-frequency glow discharge under 1X10<-5>Torr pressure and X=2.4 in terms of FexN is used as an FexN film 2 to be provided on the above-mentioned film 1. A polymerized film 3 is formed by using an allyl dimethylamine as a monomer and the film formed by treating the surface of the FexN film for 1.2sec at 1,600W with H2 as the discharge gas prior to the formation of the plasma-polymerized film to 70Angstrom thickness is formed as a protective film. The recording medium having the good durability is obtd. by the presence of such protective film 3.
