PURPOSE:To reduce frequency of culture solution exchange, to change the culture solution at any time readily in a necessary occasion and to cultivate a material to be cultivated without being affected by a metabolic substance, by using a container for culture equipped with a specific filter member and a pipe passing through the member. CONSTITUTION:A filter member 12 made of ceramic to penetrate a culture solution but not culture mixture is set through a ring-shaped sealing member 13 engaged with the inner wall in a main body 11 of a bottomed cylindrical container for culture which consists of a material such as glass, etc., in a container 10 for culture and optionally is equipped with a protruded reservoir part 11c for culture solution at a bottom 11b and a pipe 14 for feeding and discharging the culture solution is welded to the member in such a way the pipe is passed through the filter member, the lower end 14b of the pipe reaches the vicinity of the bottom 11b of the main body 11 and the top 14a of the pipe is positioned lower than an opening part 11a of the main body 11. Then, for example, a protoplast and a culture solution are fed to the uprightly or slantingly set container 10, Air, CO2, N2, C2H4 gas, etc., are optionally introduced from the pipe 14 and culture is carried out. A metabolic substance such as formed polyphenyl, etc., is transferred to the bottom parts 11b and 11c, a culture solution 16 is optionally discharged through the feeding and discharging pipe 14, a fresh culture solution is fed and the culture solution is readily exchanged.
