PURPOSE:To reduce the thickness deviation of a product and to extend the life of cooling bodies by providing heat extraction belts to the range of the cooling bodies except the part where a molten metal is to be supplied and bringing the belts into contact with the cooling bodies, thereby executing the external cooling of the cooling bodies. CONSTITUTION:The heat extraction belts 5 are wound by guide rolls 6, 7 on the outside peripheral face of the cooling rolls 4 except paddle parts 2 and the surfaces of the belts on the side where the belts do not contact the rolls 4 are cooled by cooling water 8. The heating up of the rolls 4 is surely prevented by the contact with the thoroughly cooled belts 5 and the thermal deformation thereof is decreased at the time of supplying a molten metal from a supplying nozzle 1 and quickly cooling the molten metal by the rolls 4 to produce the thin metallic strip 3 according to the above-mentioned mechanism. The thickness deviation of the strip 3 is, therefore, prevented and the life of the rolls 4 is extended. |
