PURPOSE:To reduce the surface shake of a floppy disk by attaching a doughnut- shaped soft weight to the outermost peripheral part of the floppy disk. CONSTITUTION:A doughnut-shaped weight 10 is attached to a floppy disk 11. Any weight is used if it is soft. For example, materials like a rubber are cut into a doughnut and are attached. Resins may be used. An optimum value of its weight has the rotation number, the diameter of the flexible disk, etc., as parameters. If it is too heavy, the flexible disk is inclined down by the influence of gravity; and if it is too light, it means nothing. Since the weight increases the centrifugal of the floppy disk, the occurrence of surface shake is reduced.
