PURPOSE:To quickly write information in a series of continuous words without requiring complicated control by setting a series of information write permission/ rejection storage means corresponding to plural continuous words to the information writable state based on specific instruction information. CONSTITUTION:For example, information in the word 4 of an associative memory array 1 is selected by retrieval operation and is read out. The block address 35 of readout information is inputted to a block address decoder 34, and information write permission/rejection storage circuits 14-17 corresponding to a series of words 2-5 are set by instruction information from the decoder 34. Thus, information in plural continuous words 2-5 is erased, and a series of continuous words are easily and quickly set in the writable state.
