PURPOSE:To prevent separation of active material from a plate during formation, to increase strength, and to remove nitrate group by heating a sintered substrate impregnated with nickel hydroxide active material by chemical impregnation process, then applying formation to the substrate so that formation current is 1-15C and guantity of charging electricity is 100-250% of the plate capacity. CONSTITUTION:A nickel plate obtained by chemical impregnation process is heated at 180-230 deg.C. By this heat-treatment, formation of gamma-NiOOH is retarded and separation of active material from the plate can be prevented even in large formation current such as 1C or more and in overcharge. By making large current formation possible, high speed production is realized. Since quantity of charging electricity can be increased to 100-250% of the plate capacity, active material is activated and nitrate group can be removed. |
