PURPOSE:To produce phenylalanine (derivative) in high efficiency, by treating phenylpyruvic acid, fumaric acid and ammonium ion with a specific microorganism in an aqueous medium. CONSTITUTION:A microbial strain belonging to Achromobacter genus, Acinetobacter genus, Brevibacterium genus, Vibrio genus, etc., (e.g. Acinetobacter luofii ATCC-9036) is inoculated in a liquid medium added with fumaric acid, ammonium ion [e.g. (NH4)2SO4] and a substrate selected from (3,4-dihydroxy) phenylpyruvic acid, 3,4-methylenedioxyphenylpyruvic acid, 3-hydroxy-4- methoxyphenylpyruvic acid, etc., and cultured at 5.0-8.5pH and 15-35 deg.C for 1-3hr under aerobic condition to produce and accumulate (3,4-dihydroxy) phenylalanine, 3,4-methylenedioxyphenylalanine, etc. |
