MANUFACTURE OF OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM

PURPOSE:To manufacture many kinds of small-scale recording media at low cost without providing an expensive pattern for each signal source by writing a signal from an external information source on a surface-smoothed recording film on a medium as a perforation pit array. CONSTITUTION:When an optical recording medium is manufactured, the recording film 2 is formed on the smooth transparent substrate 1 and laser light is converged on the smooth surface of this recording film 2 to write the signal as the perforation bit array 4 by high-accuracy mechanical feeding operation. Then the remaining recording film 2 is bleached out without being deformed to form a reflecting layer 3 which has the recorded bit array 4 on the recording film 2. This recording film uses coloring matter which has characteristic absorption in a wavelength range of 700-900nm as organic coloring matter which is bleached out with ultraviolet rays. A light containing ultraviolet rays is used to bleach out the recording film 2 and thus many kinds of small-scale recording media are manufactured at low cost without providing an expensive stamper for each signal source.
