PURPOSE:To obtain a good-quality coated film in a short coating booth by independently and reciprocatingly driving a conveyer in a base coating zone and reciprocating a material to be coated on the conveyer. CONSTITUTION:In the two coating-one baking type metallic coating for a material to be coated such as a vehicle, a conveyer 5 in a base coating zone can be independently moved and a material to be coated which is put thereon can be reciprocated along the transferring direction thereof. While the material to be coated is transferred to 7d from 7a, the reciprocative conveyer 5 is reciprocated in 7b at an optimum velocity and metallic base paint is subjected to wet-on-wet coating two times and above by an atomization type electrostatic gun in the meanwhile. In such a way, the coating cost is reduced in a short coating booth and the regulation of the coating conditions is facilitated and the quality of the coated film is enhanced.
