摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce errors in errors in detection due to the physical strain of a recording medium by detecting magnetic information from the same part of a magnetic recording medium by arranging a magneto-resistance element for sine wave detection and a magneto-resistance element for consine wave detection one over the other. CONSTITUTION:The magneto-resistance element A for sine wave detection while is made of a ferromagnetic material and the has detection parts S1-S8 and connection parts C1-C8 is vapor-deposited on a glass substrate 10 which has high insulation and smoothness. Detection parts S9-S16 and connection parts C9-C16 of the magneto- resistance element B for cosine wave detection are vapor-deposited so that the interdigital pattern of the element B is in the linear shape of the interdigital pattern of the element A. At this time, the detection parts S16 and S1 are isolated by lambda/4 and the detection parts S1 and S2 are isolated by lambda; and the detection parts S2 and S15 are separated by 3lambda/4 and the total of the four detection parts is 2lambda. Consequently, the magneto-resistance element A for sine wave detection and magneto-resistance element B for cosine have detection are arranged one over the other in 90 deg. out-of-phase relation to the wavelength lambda of a sine wave recorded on a magnetic recording medium.
