The invention relates to an analog/digital encoder which gives a binary coded number from an analog electrical signal. An encoder comprises a first stage with comparators (1 to 15) which "weigh" the analog input signal, and at least two stages with NOR gates (101 to 121) (141 to 143) which convert it into an N-bit number. According to the invention the second stage is divided into groups of gates (101 to 107) (111 to 113) (121) which operate in parallel. Each group of gates formulates one of the bits of the binary number. In each group, each two-input NOR gate is connected to the outputs Q of a first balance and of a second balance. The outputs (B) of the gates of a group (101 to 107) (111 to 113) are addressed to the inputs ( epsilon B) of a gate of the third stage (141 to 143). The bit of highest weight (N) is obtained directly via the output <IMAGE> of the balance of order 2<N-1>. Application to information-processing chains. <IMAGE> |
