PURPOSE:To attempt improvement of working efficiency when a wheel with a tire is assembled to a vehicle wheel axle which is conveyed on an assembly line by automating nut changing to a nut runner, setting of the wheel to an assembly device and the like. CONSTITUTION:Each of two wheel assembly devices 5 is provided to the right and left sides of an assembly station 4, and furthermore each of hanger conveyors 6 is provided in such a way as to pass through above the right and left sides of the assembly station 4. And a pair of nut suppliers 7 is arranged in front and in rear at the outside of each conveyor 6. A wheel assembly device 5 is constructed in such a way that both a wheel receiving stand and a plurality of nut runners 13, the tip end of which is projected into said receiving stand 5, are mounted on a moving frame 11 which is freely movable against a wheel axle 2. Then, after a wheel 3 is set on the receiving stand 5, the moving stand 11 is advanced to a predetermined assembly position on the axle (2) side, thereby fastening a nut 10 to each hub bolt 2a by the nut runner 13 for assembling the wheel 3.
