PURPOSE:To finish the surface in a multicolor pattern by overlapping the bonding part on a first type, and sticking a second type having no identity on the part other than the bonding part to form the part recoated with a paint of a different kind or color and the part not recoated. CONSTITUTION:After an undercoating material 1 is coated, as required, on a material to be coated, the first type 2 of paper, etc., is stuck on the rear surface of the coated material through an adhesive 3, etc., and a colored opaque or translucent water-base or solvent-type paint 4 is coated on the whole surface to be processed. Subsequently, the second type 5 of paper, etc., overlapped on the type 2 at the bonding part, and having no identity on the part other than the bonding part is stuck on the rear surface coated with the above- mentioned paint through an adhesive 6, etc., and a colored opaque or translucent water-base or solvent-type paint 7 is coated on the whole surface to be processed. The stuck types 2 and 5 are successively removed, and a transparent or translucent water-based or solvent-type paint 8 is coated on the whole surface to be processed. The surface is thus finished in a multicolor pattern.
