PURPOSE:To protect personal information stored in a card section and to economize the telephone set by separating the electronic telephone set into a main body using mainly mechanical components and the card section using mainly electronic components. CONSTITUTION:The main body 1 of the telephone set is provided with an operation section 11 applying the operation of the telephone set, an interface section 12 being a man-machine interface, a circuit section 13 controlling an incoming call and a channel and a power supply section 14. The card 12 is an electronic part and consists of a talking circuit 21, a dial sending section 22, a microcomputer section 23, a reply detection section 24 detecting the response of the opposite party and a monitor part 25 operating a speaker. The card section 2 is loaded to the main body 1 and the electronic telephone set is formed by incorporating the both. In removing the card 2 and carrying it by an individual, the personal information stored in the card 2 is secured, the main body is simplified and economized.
