PURPOSE:To make troubles, such as jitter, uneven pitches, etc., avoidable, by constituting a semiconductor laser and/or collimator lens so as to move in order to avoid the variation of the relative positional relation between a light emitting point and the collimator lens caused by the positional movement of the light emitting point. CONSTITUTION:When the light emitting position of a semiconductor laser 10 moves in the lateral direction due to mode hopping, the movement is immediately detected by a light emitting position detecting device 32 and light emitting point position moving information is inputted to a moving device 42 from the detecting device 32. Then the moving device 42 moves the semiconductor laser 10 and/or a collimator lens 24 in the direction, in which the movement of the light emitting point can be cancelled, in accordance with the input. Therefore, even if mode hopping takes place, deflection of a laser beam 16 after passing through the collimator lens 24 does not occur and troubles, such as jitter, uneven pitches, etc., can be avoided. |
