PURPOSE:To depress keys only with finger motion while approximately fixing both hands by depressing keys with thumb and another finger simultaneously to discriminate plural characters assigned to one key and arranging KANA (Japanese syllabary) keys in three rows. CONSTITUTION:Three keys are assigned to the thumb of each of right and left hands, and six keys are assigned to the index finger, and three keys are assigned to each of the middle finger, the ring finger, and the little finger, and keys are so arranged that the operator can operate them while fixing his both hands. The thumb takes charge of a space key, a KANA input shift key of the lower case, and the voiced mark key of the upper case, and fingers other than thumbs take charge of general KANA character keys and a semi-voiced mark key. In case of input of a character of the upper case, only the corresponding key is operated; and in case of input of a character of the lower case, the corresponding KANA character key is operated simultaneously with depression of the shift key by the thumb. It is sufficient if one shift key is depressed. In case of input of a character with the voiced sound, the voiced mark key and the corresponding character key are simultaneously depressed or the voiced sound mark key is operated after depression of the character key. By such constitution, the character input speed is increased to reduce the fatigue due to work.
