PURPOSE:To measure tension simply while keeping high accuracy, by arranging a tension detection sensor for a thin plate-shaped body to the outside of a tension receiving member. CONSTITUTION:The title apparatus has a tension receiving member 1 arranged to the outermost periphery and having at least a surface forming a rotary cylindrical surface, a shaft roll 2 arranged at a position coming to a concentric circle with respect to the rotary cylindrical surface and the elastic member 3 arranged between the tension receiving member 1 and the shaft roll 2 and, at the predetermined position of the outer periphery of the tension receiving member 1, a freely rotatable touch roll 4 is arranged so as to be contacted with said member 1 and a load detection part 6 is provided to the touch roll 4. By this constitution, the tension of a plate-shaped body can be directly transmitted to the load detection part 6 through the touch roll 4 and can be known easily and instantaneously.
