PURPOSE:To enable a connecting rod to be obtained with large strength and light weight further with low vibration, by forming the whole unit of the connecting rod in average density of 6.8-7.4g/cm<3> while the big-end part of the connecting rod in density smaller than that of the other part. CONSTITUTION:A connecting rod 1 causes a problem in strength, if its averaged density of the whole unit is less than 6.8g/cm<3>, while small decreases an effect of weight lightness if reversely the averaged density of the whole unit is larger than 7.4g/cm<3>. In this way, the sintered connecting rod 1 sets its averaged density of the whole unit to within a range of 6.8-7.4g/cm<3>. Next the connecting rod causes a trouble in strength, if density of its big-end part 3 is less than 6.5g/cm<3>, while small decreases a damping effect of vibration if the density is 7.2g/cm<3> or more. In this way, the sintered connecting rod sets the density of its big-end part 3 to a range of 6.5-7.2g/cm<3>. Accordingly, the connecting rod is formed with large strength and light weight further with low vibration.
