PURPOSE:A resin composition, containing a specific unsaturated ester compound and specific alkyl-substituted styrene derivative, having improved curability and moldability and capable of giving cured articles having water and chemical resistance and excellent mechanical strength as well as stability at high temperatures. CONSTITUTION:A resin composition obtained from preferably 30-90pts.wt. unsaturated ester compound expressed by formula I (R1 is a group expressed by formula II or III and at least two thereof are groups expressed by formula II; R2 is H, halogen, methoxy or 1-5C alkyl; R3 and R4 are H or methyl) and preferably 10-70pts.wt. alkyl-substituted styrene derivative expressed by formula IV (R5 is 1-5C alkyl), preferably o-, m- or p-methylstyrene. The above- mentioned unsaturated ester compound is obtained by subjecting an aromatic diamine and an epihalohydrin to addition reaction, dehydrohalogenating the resultant N-halohydrin to form a glycidyl compound and subjecting the obtained epoxy compound to ring opening and addition using acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid.
