PURPOSE:To prevent generation of striking sound to ensure the amount of fuel injection with a high degree of accuracy, by incorporating an inlet valve opening means of liquid pressure instructing type to an inlet valve disposed between a pressure regulating spring chamber and a plunger pressurized chamber. CONSTITUTION:A fuel injector 11 is integrally incorporated with a plunger pump 15. A pressure regulating chamber 24 in the fuel injector 11 is formed in a gas-tight structure, and is connected with a plunger pressurized chamber 16 through an inlet valve 31. An inlet valve opening means 35 of liquid pressure instructing type is incorporated to the inlet valve 31 disposed between the pressure regulating spring chamber 24 and the plunger pressurized chamber 16. This inlet valve opening means 35 is actuated when the internal pressure of an accumulator 40 is below a set pressure to sustain the opening of the inlet valve 31. Thus, it is possible to eliminate a gap between a plunger drive cam and a cam follower, thereby it is possible to prevent generation of striking sound. |
