A heat-sensitive recording material excellent in stability of recorded images is disclosed, which comprises a support having formed thereon a heat-sensitive recording layer comprising a colorless or pale-colored basic dye and a color developer capable of forming a color upon coming into contact with the basic dye, wherein said heat-sensitive recording layer further comprises at least one compound selected from the compounds represented by following formulae (I) and (II): <IMAGE> (I) <IMAGE> (II) wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, and R8 independently represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms.
