PURPOSE:To correct the distortion of the pulse width of an output digital signal due to a photodetector or the like by providing a correction means making the pulse width of the output digital signal with a pulse width of input light. CONSTITUTION:When the level of an input 15 of a delay time adjusting circuit 14 is at H, a transistor (TR) 21 is turned on, a differential amplifier circuit comprising TRs 23, 24 is operated and when an input 16 is at H, a TR 22 is turned on and a differential amplifier comprising TRs 28, 29 is operated. Thus, resistors 25, 26 and a capacitor 27 set the delay time for the input signal going to H from L and resistors 30, 31 and a capacitor 32 set a delay time for the signal going to L from the H level. Thus, the distortion of the pulse width of an output digital signal due to the photodetector or the like is corrected.
