PURPOSE:The titled device capable of curing a resin layer on a glass lens by thermal polymerization and forming a nonspherical compound lens simply, provided with a mold capable of making a heating medium flow freely and a controller capable of freely controlling the temperature of the heating medium. CONSTITUTION:A concave spherical glass lens 2 is placed on a mold 5. A coupling agent is applied to the surface of the lens 2 in order to strengthen bond to a resin. Then a proper amount of a mixed solution 3 of a polymerization initiator and a thermally polymerizable monomer is cast onto the glass lens 2. A mold 1 is lowered to a position of the thickness of a compound lens, the lens is fixed and the center of the lens is determined by a bell clamp mechanism. Then, a valve unit 7 is regulated by a valve unit controller 8, a heating medium is made to flow in the mold 1 and an insert 4 and the mixed solution 3 is thermally cured. After the thermal polymerization is over, cooling water is packed into the mold by the valve unit 7. After cooling, the mold 1 is raised and the lens is taken out. The nonspherical compound lens is simply molded.
