PURPOSE:To reduce engine torque and to prevent the occurrence of a slip, by a method wherein an amount of fuel injected to a diesel engine is controlled in priority to an amount of fuel injected by means of a governor device so that the slip amount does not exceed a specified value. CONSTITUTION:A rotation sensor 10 outputs a theoretical car speed V of a vehicle. A Doppler sensor 12 outputs an actual car speed V of a vehicle. A controller 14 calculates a slip amount V of a wheel device from the theoretical car speed V and the actual car speed V. Through control of a pulse motor 22, mounted to a fuel injection device 20, so that the slip amount V is prevented from exceeding a specified value, an amount of fuel injected, controlled by means of a governor mechanism 24, is reduced when a slip occurs. This constitution enables prevention of the occurrence of a slip through decrease of output shaft torque.
