PURPOSE:To manufacture a phenolic resin foamed material at a high speed continuously and stably, by a method wherein a belt conveyor is divided into a plurality of divisions, and the divided parts each are surrounded by a chamber having a temperature control device. CONSTITUTION:The temperature T1 of a contacting surface between a lower endless belt conveyor 1 and a mixture in a supply zone of a resol type phenolic resin mixture, which is the first process, falls within the next range. (B-10)<=T1<=(B+15) where B is a boiling point ( deg.C) of a foaming agent. Then the temperature T2 of the surfaces of a lower endless belt conveyor 1 and upper endless belt conveyor 2 coming into contact with a foamed plastics in a completing zone of foaming, which is the second process, falls within the next range. (B-10)<T2<=(D+10) where D is an inner temperature ( deg.C) of the foamed material at the time of completion of the foaming. Next, the foamed material is crosslinked and cured sufficiently in a curing zone, which is the third process. The maximum temperature T3 of the surfaces of the upper and lower belt conveyors coming into contact with the foamed material falls within the range, 80<=T3<=105. Thus the foamed material of a good quality can be manufactured continuously and stably at a high speed. |
