PURPOSE:To increase the temp. of a heat recovering medium in a waste heat recovering section by bisecting the sintered ore lumps extracted from the pallet of a sintering machine to the low-temp. sintered ore of an upper half part and the high-temp. sintered ore of a lower half part and grinding such ore. CONSTITUTION:The sintered ore lumps 13 extracted from the pallet 12 on a sprocket wheel 11 glide on a guide 14 for gliding and are plunged onto a cutting tool 15 having the top end formed to a shape-edged comb-like lade 15a so as to be bisected in the same time striken by the blade 16a of a rotary type crusher 16 and is bisected to the low-temp. sintered ore 13a of the upper half part and the high-temp. sintered ore 13b of the lower half part. The low- temp. sintered ore 13a of the upper half part is discharged from a chute 17A to one of troughs 18 for cooling in which the cooling medium A flows from below to above and which are divided by a partition plate 19. The low-temp. sintered ore 13b of the lower half part is discharged from a chute 17b to the other. The sintered ore is thus cooled.
