PURPOSE:To determine the shapes of a matrix and core with high accuracy by applying a specified shrinkage rate on the basis of the presumption that the shrinkage of a two-dimensional vane shape progresses to the center of the max. wall thickness, thereby designing the vane shapes of the matrix and core. CONSTITUTION:The center Q of the max. inscribed circle of the outside vane shape is determined. The representative points of the vane shapes of the matrix and core are determined from the distances between the respective representative points A0-H0 and A1-H1 of the outside and inside vane shapes and the center Q, the distances between the centers E0, F0 and E1, F1 and A0 and B0, B1 of the arcs at the inlet and outlet ends of the vane and coeffts. The coordinate points of the matrix and core corresponding to the coordinate points at the respective points adjacent to the representative points A0, H0 and A1-H1 (except E0, E1 and F0, F1) of the vane shape are determined. The above-mentioned procedures are applied to the plural sections. The distance between the sectional faces of the vane of the matrix and core are then determined by using the values calculated from the respective distances between the sectional faces of the vane shape and the coeffts.
