PURPOSE:To allow an Ni-Co-Sn metal-base diamond sintered body to show superior grinding performance when used to precisely grind fine ceramics, by holding the diamond abrasive grains with a matrix phase consisting of Co, Sn and Ni. CONSTITUTION:Ni powder of 1-10mu average particle size, Co powder of 1-10mum and Sn powder of 10-100mum are mixed with 10-30wt% diamond powder of 30-300mum and sintered to obtain a diamond sintered body. The diamond abrasive grains in the diamond sintered body are held with a matrix phase consisting of 5-30wt% in total of Co and Sn and the balance Ni and having a heterogeneous structure.
