PURPOSE:To manufacture a porous Cu-alloy sintered compact with 40-70% porosity, by limiting the contents of respective alloying elements of Cu alloy, the theoretical density ratio of green compact, and heating temp. CONSTITUTION:A Cu-alloy powder has a composition containing, by weight, 0.1-10% of 1 or >=2 elements among Al, Zr, and Ti. The above powder is compacted into a green compact having 20-55% theoretical density ratio, which is heated to 300-500 deg.C in an oxidizing atmosphere to undergo oxidation and sintering. Then the resulting sintered compact is heated to 600-900 deg.C in a reducing atmosphere to undergo reduction mainly of Cu, so that a structure in which fine hard-oxide grains of 1 or >=2 elements among Al, Zr, and Ti are dispersed in a Cu-alloy matrix can be obtained.
