PURPOSE:To make the title DC electromagnet small in size as well as to contrive improvement in operational reliability by a method wherein one of the center leg armature faces of the two iron cores is formed in cone shape, the other center leg armature face is formed into a V-shaped groove having the inclined surface in parallel with said cone-shaped inclined surface, and the angle of opening of the inclined surface is formed at 20-30 degrees. CONSTITUTION:The armature face of the center leg 34a of a fixed iron core 34 is formed in V-shaped groove, the armature face of the center leg 33a of a movable core 33, having the inclined surface in parallel with the inclined surface where a V-shape groove will be formed, is formed in cone shape, and the opening angle of the two inclined surfaces where cone-shaped or V-shaped groove will be provided, is set in the range of 20-30 degrees. The fixed iron core and the movable iron core are opposingly arranged leaving the interval L1 between both side legs and the interval L2 at the center leg, a DC electromagnet coil 37 is provided on the side of the fixed iron core surrounding the center leg. Accordingly, the attracting force of an electromagnet at its starting position is brought to the magnitude enough to start the electromagnet, and the point of contact, requiring a troublesome adjustment to be performed by parallel-connecting to an economical resistance and interlocking to the movable iron core, is unneccesitated. As a result, the DC electromagnet can be made small in size, and its operational reliability can also be improved.
