PURPOSE:To recognize a limit of the titled device in terms of mechanism on a display means by varying the relation of relative quantity between image information displayed on the display means and an indication part representing a range for image output on the display means within an image output-enable range. CONSTITUTION:Stored image information is converted into a picture element density of a display means 30 such as a CRT and displayed by a control means 45. Further, the control means 45 displays the paper size and magnification indicated by a display indication means 47 as the indication section on the display means 46 together with the image information. When the button is kept depressed, the display image information is magnified based on the left down end of the frame. In detaching the button when the image reaches desired size, the control means 45 calculates the magnification to change the display on the CRT 30. The control means 45 always supervises whether or not the size reaches its limit during the size change and if the size should be attained to the limit, even if the button is depressed, the means 45 inhibits the magnification or reduction of the image. Thus, the operator recognizes the range of magnification reaching the limit by the stop of the magnification or contraction of the image.
