PURPOSE:To simply produce metallic patterns in large quantities by forming a wall for forming a pattern on the surface of a base material with ultraviolet- curing resin ink, forming a metallic layer around the wall and removing the wall. CONSTITUTION:A wall 2 for forming a pattern is formed on the surface of a base material 1 such as glass or a metal by screen printing or other method with ultraviolet-curing resin ink. A raised layer 3 of a metal such as Al is then formed on the surface of the base material 1 around or in the wall 2 by thermal spraying or other method. After the metallic layer 3 is cooled, the wall 2 is removed and a convex pattern of the metallic layer 3 remaining on the surface of the base material 1 is obtd. By this method, the wall 2 can be simply removed and desired metallic patterns can be formed in large quantities.
