PURPOSE:To contrive compactness of the whole of the titled equipment by arranging auxiliary supporting mechanisms of materials to be welded to the outside of the neighborhood of electrode units respectively. CONSTITUTION:The auxiliary supporting mechanisms 11 with respect to the material 12 to be welded are provided to a frame 15 of a movable stand 2 and a pressure receiving stand 16 and a pad 17 are arranged at the opposite side of the material 12 to be welded. First, the material 12 to be welded is strongly helded and cut between the upper and lower electrodes 6 and 9, and pads 7 and 10 and next, after the material 12 to be welded is pressurized and held by the auxiliary supporting mechanism 11, the upper electrode unit 5 rises. After the taking-out allowance of the upper and lower units 5 and 8 are are set, an electrode pressure device 4 pressurizes the material 12 to be welded and the welding is performed. The lengths of the electrode units 5 and 8 are shortened and the distance between the movable stand 2 and a fixed stand 3 is shortened by this method. Accordingly, a common supporting stand 1 is shortened and the whole of the equipment is made compact.
